Throughout this course, you will delve into a range of materials, processes, and techniques, making use of our Makerspace facilities to produce and develop your work. You will explore 2D, 3D and time-based disciplines by working to briefs based on a variety of themes. You will look into art and design history, artist and designer research, and current world context to spark your imagination and influence your outcomes.
Over the year, you will work on a variety of different projects, delivered through a combination of practical project work, specialist workshops and lectures.
This course is the UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Art and Design.
How you'll learn and be assessed
You will be set practical assignments to complete that reflect professional practice. Emphasis is placed on working and learning with others. You also need to be able to work independently and take responsibility for your own learning.
In addition, you will develop English, maths, and entrepreneurial skills through live projects and enterprise activities. You will be responsible for a significant amount of self-directed study.
Progression
On completing this course, most students choose to progress to a Level 3 course.
Entry requirements
You need to have 4 GCSEs in grade 3 or above, including English language and maths, and have a keen interest in and evidence of the subject (example of work or portfolio).
