Supporting students this term

We hope that you’ve had a nice break and are looking forward to starting back at college on Wednesday 8 January 2025.

I just wanted to get in touch ahead of the start of the spring term to remind everyone of the importance of starting off what we hope will be an exciting term, in a positive way. This term will give you lots of opportunities to learn, develop and take part in wider enrichment activities.

As we are now halfway through the academic year, it is important to bear in mind that the better your attendance is, the better your chances of success will be in your chosen programme of study and qualifications.

If you haven’t been turning up to your lessons as much as you would like to, it’s not too late to make a difference to your learning journey! College offers you lots of spaces to focus and work if you need a good study area for example in the Learning Environments, and there are always people around who can support you. The best start that you can make is turning up to your lessons on time and ready to learn, so you don’t miss any crucial content and are able to complete your coursework or assessments on time.

Support is available if you need it. Please speak to your teacher or to a member of our Safeguarding team if there’s anything you need help with.

I hope that you have a great term with lots of fantastic memories made and success in your studies.

Kind regards,

Cheri Ashby
